TV is everywhere. Sure, most of the time when we think about the television, we think about Direct TV and its dishes that adorn hundreds of thousands of homes all across the United States. You may think of the TV guide that contains the TV listings of all the upcoming shows, and even little snippets of information about upcoming specials. In a very real way, TV has become an integral part of everyday life. There are many who plan their daily schedule around the shows that are on, and some will even adjust their sleeping schedule so that they will be awake when their favorite drama or game show comes on.
The latter is not a new phenomenon, of course. How many of you raced home on Monday nights to watch Star Trek when it first ran? The truth of the matter is that you love your LCD TV, Internet TV and any other kind of transmission mode you can find. Your TV stands holder bigger and clearer gadgets and you simply love the fact that you can watch TV while tinkering in the garage, doing the laundry, and performing a host of other activities during everyday life that might otherwise be a bit boring. If you do not believe that TV is everywhere, try to go without for three days. This means no TV in the evening when you come home from work and kick up your heels. No free internet TV with the funny clips that make watching it so much fun. No free cable TV preview of the movie channel that has all the latest movies and is showing the movie that you missed in the theatres not too long ago. No online TV, not even the free online TV feed that comes from the numerous webcams which are planted all over the world. The odds are good that you will not make it for three days. As a matter of fact, you will probably catch yourself staring at your flat screen TV, even though it is turned off! In your job, you may have to rely on the TV options simply as part of your employment or training, and the same may be true if you are pursuing a higher education. While it is easy to suggest just opening a good book and curling up on the sofa, the truth behind this invention suggests that it has left the realm of being merely for entertainment or informational purposes and instead has become integrated into everyday life as a multi-tasking communications tool.
