If you are a bit of a sound junkie, then you have undoubtedly heard the term iTune bandied about by others and you might have wondered whether or not this kind of technology will truly bring about the sound revolution it is rumored to be. In essence, the term “iTunes for PC” refers to a software application that is little more than a digital media player.

In a sense, the idea of the iTune is proprietary to Apple which sought to carve out this niche of the market for its audio files. From there they can be downloaded to the much sought after iPod. Since the iPod also supports video files, the aficionado will now be able to play music videos and even watch entire television programs! A free iTunes download can then entice a computer user to try the service, to explore different kinds of music, and to amass as much music as the computer’s storage devices will hold. Also available as iTunes for Windows – Apple soon realized that Macintosh did not have to be its only customer base – this technology is here to stay and it would be unthinkable to make do without it.
